Apartment Jestrab

A vacation rental in the Czech mountains. I built the site at the end of 2025: four languages and a booking calendar synced with Booking.com, so the same dates can never be sold twice.

In 2026 I rebuilt the front end. The first version ran on Divi: 238 KB of HTML on the homepage alone, most of it inline CSS. I replaced it with a hand-coded theme, keeping the booking system, the content and the photos exactly as they were, then moved it to a healthier server and put a CDN in front.

Carlyze

An app that scores a used car before you buy it: the faults that engine and gearbox are known for, what each one costs to fix, and a risk number you can put in front of the seller.

I spent five years importing and selling used cars, so this is the tool I wanted and never had. Built in React Native and Expo, with the database, the API integrations and the first ad campaigns all done by me.

About

Czech, based in Southeast Asia. Nine years selling technical systems before I wrote code full time.

Those nine years were technical sales and support for materials-testing systems, sold to automotive, aerospace, construction, energy and rail companies and to university labs. The buyers knew their field and wanted a straight answer they could act on. That is where I learned to say plainly what something will cost, what it won't do and when it will be finished.

Then five years importing and selling used cars, which is where Carlyze came from. The code is the easy half of a project; the part that decides whether it goes well is still the conversation.

How this site is built

The same way I build client sites. One HTML file, one stylesheet, one script and three self-hosted font files. No framework, no page builder, no tracking scripts. The numbers on the right are measured by your own browser as this page loads, so they're real for you, right now.
